“Behold, a sower went out to sow.” (Matthew 13:3)

Seed is something that is programmed to produce fruit for sustenance. In the parable, the sower obviously is God. He uses different ways in which to sow seed. This He constantly does. He is good all the time. He pursues our good all the time.

We would do well to understand and always remember that God, from whom every good and perfect gift comes, freely, always and everywhere scatters His blessings to benefit everyone, the righteous and the unrighteous alike. When He gives us instructions, it is not so that we can get access to His kingdom; He has already chosen gladly to give it to us. Rather, it is so that we can live an abundant life in it. May all who have this assurance be generous as well, just as He is.
