Luke 4: 18, 19: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim release to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set free those who are downtrodden, to proclaim the favorable year of the Lord.” David had declared centuries before, “My times are in Your hand.” (Psalm 31: 15). Of a truth, God’s authority is absolute, and when He decides it’s time for favor, it's time for favor. “In the fullness of time,” as St. Paul put it (Galatians 4: 4), Jesus came and brought light, sight, and freedom to those who had been waiting. And for us? Having already received His favor, we can be sure that these things which threaten to trample us down will soon be vanquished; not because man says so, but because God says so. It’s just a matter of time.
