Saturday, November 11: “True Light Repeated”
Matthew 14: 36: “They implored [Jesus] that they might just touch the fringe of His cloak; and as many as touched it were cured.”
A few months earlier, a woman who had been suffering from a hemorrhage for twelve years had been inspired to touch the hem of Jesus’ garment, thinking that the Light of Christ would heal her. It turns out she was right (Matthew 9: 20-22). Now all the sick in the entire district decide to do the same thing. Does Jeus demand that they try something new? No, the True Light does not depend on novelty, but on the grace of God; not on nouveau showmanship, but on God’s love and power.
