Sunday, February 25: “The Odd of God I”

Psalm 8: 4: “What is man that You take thought of him, and the son of man that You care for him?”

When David says that God has made man a little lower than Himself he’s talking about in rank, not in majesty, glory, splendor, or strength. When God establishes strength in infants the glory is His, not man’s, for compared to the heavens, moon, and stars, the glory of man is not quite up to scratch. The point of the psalm is this: God’s greatness is seen in His decision, determination, and dedication to use man in his post-Edenic state, and through His love, to restore both man and Eden to their pre-fall existence; that man would no more be the Odd of God.
