Tuesday, May 2: “Peace through Blood”
Colossians 1: 20: “It was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in [Christ], and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of the cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.”
Everyone wants peace on earth (well, almost everyone). Peace on earth begins with peace in heaven, in other words, peace with God, as we accept the terms of His peace treaty with man: the Cross. Amazingly, although man was the aggressor in his struggle against the Divine, the Father himself paid the war reparations in the blood of His Son. Until mankind settles this issue and has peace in our hearts with our Creator, peace on earth will remain as frustratingly elusive as ever.
