Tuesday, November 7: “True Light Rejoicing”
Nehemiah 12: 44: “On that day men were also appointed over the chambers for the stores, the contributions, the firstfruits and the tithes, to gather into them from the fields of the cities the portions required by the law for the priests and Levites; for Judah rejoiced over the priests and Levites who served.”
For centuries the storehouses of the temple had sat empty, and were even destroyed with the rest of God’s house. The people had lost sight of the beauty, majesty, and worthiness of the Lord, and the joy of expressing their love through corporate worship and giving. But it was a new day of restoration! The light of Judah having been restored, the people worshiped, gave, and rejoiced. To this day, knowing the True Light has that effect on people.
