Wednesday, February 21: “God Intentions  XXXII”

1 Corinthians 2: 6, 8 “Yet we do speak wisdom among those who are mature; a wisdom, however, not of this age nor of the rulers of this age, who are passing away; the wisdom which none of the rulers of this age has understood; for if they had understood it they would have not crucified the Lord of glory.”

The wisdom of those with names like Socrates, Confucius, and Plato, or even Machiavelli, Descartes, and Marx, while great by man’s standards, could never match God’s wisdom. It is simply a matter of perspective. They saw from a fixed point in time and a fixed point on earth; God’s perspective is boundless by both time and space. Thus, their ‘Wisdom of the Ages’ will pass away, while the Word of the Lord stands forever (Isaiah 40: 8) Whose wisdom do you follow-the temporal or the eternal, the finite or the infinite?
