Monday, July 31: “Clear DIrections”

2 Samuel 2: 1: “Then it came about afterwards that David inquired of the Lord, saying, ‘Shall I go up to one of the cities of Judah?’ And the Lord said to him, ‘Go up.’ So David said, ‘’Where shall I go up?’ And He said, ‘To Hebron.’”

Reading David’s story, two things become obvious: First, David talked to the Lord, and secondly, the Lord talked back. Do we pass over this meaningful point too quickly? David did this regularly, and no one thought he was crazy. Can we receive encouragement from this, and become confident that when we inquire of God, He will listen and respond? Especially since, as seen in this story, his answer is always spot-on.
