Wednesday, February 28: “The Odd of God IV”

1 Corinthians 6: 9b, 11 “Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? … Such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God.”

Paraphrasing St. Paul, These things you were. You were in that state. And while you were in that state, you were sanctified and justified; not by your own work, but that of Jesus Christ. It wasn’t a case of “straighten ‘em out then love ‘em back to health”, but “love ‘em back to health and they’ll straighten themselves out”. The Lord Jesus has long known how to work with the Odd of God.
