“Broken Hearts, Crushed Spirits”

Psalm 34: 17, 18: “The righteous cry and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Lest we forget, it’s the ninth day of Christmas, Pasko na! This scripture is much more than consolation for those who didn’t get their desired gift back on the first day of Christmas. It’s talking about Christmas’ true gift, its true value: Emmanuel is near to save those who constantly face hardships in life, and to those whose hearts are broken by things a little weightier than an unfilled Christmas wish list.
