“Permanent Resident”

John 8: 34-36: “Jesus answered them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. And the slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. If therefore the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.’” These verses connect the thoughts from earlier in the week with those of yesterday. True, sin will keep you out of the house – which is the very reason the Father sent His Son to free us from sin. True freedom is the freedom to enter God’s house as a son and remain there in His presence in the fullness of joy forever, unrestricted by sin. And in Jesus Christ, that freedom is ours!
