“The Visualization of Favor”

Psalm 86: 17: “Show me a sign for good, that those who hate me may see it, and be ashamed, because You, O Lord, have helped me and comforted me.” Often we are like Gideon, looking for a sign to verify direction that God has already spoken to us. David understood it differently: the sign is for the haters, to show them that God really is for us; thus, it is not to their profit to be against us. True success is an undeniable indicator of divine cooperation.
