“Short Memory”

Jeremiah 17: 21-22: “Do not carry any load on the Sabbath day or bring anything in through the gates of Jerusalem. And you shall not bring any load out of your houses on the Sabbath day or do any work, but keep the Sabbath day, as I commanded your forefathers.” Does anyone remember the Sabbath? It’s supposed to the day when you begin your week professing your dependence on God by doing no business or carrying no load. But again, it was forgotten, and 2 Chronicles tells us that led to the Babylonian exile. Today, with our Sunday business-doing and load-carrying, what kind of exile can we expect unless we repent?
