“Remember It All”

Romans 8: 28: “God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” Have you ever heard anyone quote this verse, even claim this verse, and leave out all the qualifiers? They want and expect things to work out their way, without the inconveniently demanding qualifications of devotion, calling, or selflessness. Unfortunately for them, St. Paul included the last portion of this verse too, and the first part just doesn’t work without it.
