“God of Joy and Gladness”

Psalm 90: 14: “O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.” So don’t let all this talk of self-denial fool you; God really is all about our satisfaction. It’s just that we usually go about it the wrong way. Self-indulgence only leads to more dissatisfaction, for the flesh can’t ever be fully sated. The Gospel of the glory of Christ tells us the real source of joy and gladness: when we practice regularly the art of servanthood and self-denial.
