“Forever No Rest?”

Psalm 95: 11: “Therefore I swore in My anger, truly they shall not enter into My rest.” Is that Exodus Generation still waiting on the wrong side of the Jordan, still waiting for a rest that will never come? Consider this: It was God’s anger that closed the door on them, but “His anger is but for a moment” (Psalm 30: 5). The moment now past, and Jesus Christ having now received their chastisement (Isaiah 53: 4, 5), perhaps we can believe that that “loathed generation” is, indeed, enjoying a season of rest.
