Day 38: Spiritual Food in Quarantine

“This is the good news that was announced to you.”

Quoting a famous Isaiah verse, Peter writes, “The grass withers, and the flower falls off, but the word of the Lord endures forever.” He continues and tells his readers that this is the good news proclaimed to them. In an online world, we are bombarded with bad news. I don’t mean to be insensitive to the current global scourge of Covid-19; it’s dreadful. But all these are like grass and they will come to an end. It’s the word of the Lord and His promises that will endure forever, and they’re for welfare and abundant life, to give us a future and a hope. That’s the good news we will never stop proclaiming.
