“A Question of Identity”

Exodus 3: 4b, 11:God called to him from the midst of the bush, and said, ‘’Moses, Moses!’ And he said, ‘Here I am.’ … But Moses said to God, ‘Who am I?’” In this story of Moses and the burning bush we can find an allegorical summary of a believer’s life. The Lord gets our attention and interest and we say, “Here I am.” We’re eager to start our walk with Him. Then come periods of challenge, setback, and failure, and our affirmations turn into questions: “Who am I? How could I ever complete this journey successfully?” To which God always answers, “I AM WHO I AM” (v. 14). We are who we are because He is Who He is. And that answers all the questions.
