Psalm 148: 13:“Let them praise the Name of the Lord, for His Name alone is exalted; His glory is above heaven and earth.” When He was eight days old Jesus was circumcised and officially named (Luke 2: 21). This isn’t just any name, although it was held by many at that time, and even today. When the name Jesus (in Hebrew, ‘Joshua’, and in English, ‘Salvation’) is combined with Christ it becomes the Name above all names, at which every knee shall bow. That’s what the Church celebrates today, rather than the turning of the page of a calendar.
