2 Timothy 4: 2:“Preach the word, be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction.” Reprove, rebuke, exhort: That is a classic definition of what used to be called ‘fire and brimstone’ sermons. Why the hardline approach? Because people only wanted to hear sermons about a faith which required no change, a life which could be lived with no regard for others, and a world which revolved around their own desires. Sadly, such myths still exist today (v. 4). Hence the wake-up call, commencing four days from now.
