Thursday, October 26: “Fret Not over the Wicked”
Psalm 37: 1a, 7b, 8b: “Do not fret because of evildoers … Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way … Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing.”
David lived through many times in his life where it seemed like wrong was right and right was wrong. Writing now in his later years he looks back on it all with one piece of advice for us: Don’t fret. We will likely see some of the same things he saw, and perhaps make some of the same mistakes (not all, I hope). But he reminds us that through it all the Lord will never forsake, and we will inherit the land (the Kingdom).
