Psalm 29: 3:“The voice of the Lord is upon the waters; the God of glory thunders, The Lord is over many waters.” Man has learned to direct the lesser waters with canals and levees and dams and dikes to a degree, but when it comes to the oceans—many waters—he’s pretty much helpless. We are reminded of this every so often. But in the times of raging waters, both figurative and literal, it is important to know that the Lord is over this, has been over it since the flood, in fact, and He always will be. And out of the tumultuous waves, He blesses His people with peace (v. 11).
