“The Family of God: Unto the Lord a Kingdom of Priests”

The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand

We are a CHOSEN RACE, a ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, a HOLY NATION, and a PEOPLE FOR GOD’S OWN POSSESSION just it says in 1 Peter 2: 9. We are called and we are chosen and it is an opportunity for us to proclaim His greatness to the world.

Out there we can do and accomplish a lot of things that can declare His greatness. Simple things can affect or can make a ripple effect to others. It is like when you smile at someone who is in a bad mood and it brightens up their day. A simple pat on the back, a simple sign of respect to the elderly, a simple act of help to your parents and friends, or a simple good morning can actually cause a lot to happen within a person you have ministered to with your simple act of kindness.

The Gospel for today shows Jesus summoning His disciples to minister to others. We are also summoned to do simple things or even greater things that can affect others’ day or week. Keeping the right attitude can also affect others, as can how you speak to people. Christ is ALIVE in EVERYONE and it is our mission to make Him alive and awake in our day-to-day actions.

Being a royal priesthood and chosen race is not a label or a position, but it is a task and a responsibility that we must never take for granted. “Many are called but few are chosen,” as it is stated in the Gospel. Let us thank God for this responsibility, because we are part of His chosen.

The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand, and as a part of God’s family it is our task to follow His rules.
