“Bondage of Lies”

John 8: 33: “They answered Him, ‘We are Abraham’s offspring, and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that you say, “You shall become free?”’” To see how bound this group of ‘believers’ actually was, realize the situation: They had been under captivity in Egypt, then Babylon, and were even then subjects of the Roman Empire, under the thumb of Caesar and his puppets. Belief is not enough; one must abide in (follow) the true words of He in Whom he believes.
