ONE BODY, ONE MINISTRY

The Holy Society of King David (HSKD) Ministry held a Worship Camp on April 30 and May 1 at the LCD Resort in Calamba, Laguna. The awesome event gathered the members of its three sections --- the Choir, Orchestra, and Movement --- to reinforce the character of HSKD as truly One body, One ministry.

The Camp officially started in the evening of Day 1 with an ice-breaker game, followed by a powerful worship session led by Dcn. Francis Jorvina, and a compelling sharing by Fr. Dino Jorvina. Afterwards, Dcn. Solomon Espiña addressed the audience. As the newly appointed HSKD Director, on behalf of the members of the King David Ministry, Dcn. Sol highlighted the excellent leadership of Fr. Dino Jorvina. He recounted how Fr. Dino played a significant role in his life and ministry. The HSKD Ministry members then awarded Fr. Dino with a Plaque of Appreciation and a gift, in acknowledgement of his dedication and exceptional contribution to the Ministry for decades.

Day 2 began with a morning devotion and prayer activity led by Dcn. Sherwin Torres. He exhorted the members not to get entrapped in the “monotony of ministry.” Every time they minister, they should always bear in mind, heart, and spirit to do their best because our ministry is an opportunity to work in the Kingdom of God.

The next activity, the Amazing Race, was most exciting. The members were grouped into teams who had to work their way up by accomplishing a series of challenges. All the children and adults played a part in the Race. The activity ended with a joyful battle cry from each of the teams. Although noisy and a bit chaotic, the Race proved nevertheless to be healthfully energetic and mentally challenging!

More than just being a fun-filled gathering, the Worship Camp served a greater purpose, which was: for Dcn. Solomon to provide clearer vision and to chart a clearer direction for the HSKD to follow as One Body, One Ministry.

It is hoped that the 76 participants would reflect in their respective participation and involvement the principles and teachings they have learned through their ministry. As one harmonious unit that nurtures a deep desire to encounter Jesus and surrender all to Him, the Holy Society of King David shall continue to make His praise glorious by its commitment to being One Body, One Ministry.
