Saturday, April 29: “Pagan Praises”
Daniel 6: 26, 27: “For He is the living God and enduring forever, and His Kingdom is one which will not be destroyed, and His dominion will be forever.
He delivers and rescues and performs signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, Who has also delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.” Does this prophetic passage sound like the work of a brutal pagan king, or one of Israel’s greatest prophets? Surprisingly, it is the utterances of King Daruis, the man who had Daniel thrown into the lion’s den. It just goes to show what an effect we can have on the world around us if we, like Daniel, trust in God and remain faithful to Him, regardless of the opposition.
